Dr. Abe Woodard is a Range and Wildlife Scientist at the East Foundation in Hebbronville, Texas. His research focuses on population ecology and sustainable management of game species, primarily focusing on northern bobwhites and other upland game birds. Abe has a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries from Rio Grande University, an M.S. in Wildlife Science from Texas A&M University, and a Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from Texas A&M - Kingsville, where he investigated the effects of harvest on northern bobwhite populations. Abe had ten years of experience managing wildlife and hunting enterprises on private lands before returning to grad school for his Ph.D. in Kingsville. Abe married his wife, Sofia Woodard, in 2015 and has two sons, Beau and Dylan. In his free time, he enjoys coaching his son's baseball teams, training bird dogs, and fishing.
